Expression of Interest – Proposed Disabled Adaptation Extension Breen Park, Victoria Bridge, Strabane Rural Housing Association

Suitably experienced Building Contractors are invited to register an “Expression of Interest” in respect of proposed works to construct a ground floor disabled adaptation extension in Breen Park, Victoria Bridge, Strabane, BT82 9LF. The 2 storey, semi detached dwelling is occupied and is owned by Rural Housing Association.
The works include the demolition of the existing rear extension and hardstandings externally, construction of a disability adaptation extension to the rear of the property with a facing brick finish and concrete interlocking roof covering to match the existing property. The floor plan of the extension includes an access hallway, bedroom to Design Template 2C and a Shower Room to Design Template 2B. The shower room installation works will comprise new sanitary ware including toilet, wall hung WHB and level access (floor former) shower tray and thermostatically controlled shower as per the OT’s recommendations. Works will also include the provision of new floor coverings throughout the extension as well as the existing kitchen. Full redecoration works will be completed within the extension and disturbed areas of the existing property also.
Full mechanical and electrical works to the extension are included as part of the works, including tracking of walls/removal of plasterboard ceilings and reinstatement as required to include faceplates, light fittings, cabling etc.
Interested contractors should be capable of meeting the following criteria:
- Possess Employers Liability Insurance cover of £10 million.
- Possess Public Liability Insurance cover of £10 million.
- Possess Professional Indemnity Insurance of £2 million.
- Possess 3rd party Health & Safety Accreditations (SSIP)
- Have experience within the last 5 years of acting as a Principal Contractor, managing sub-contractors to successfully complete construction works of similar scale, scope and complexity, demonstrated with at least 2 examples.
- Have experience within the last 5 years of working within occupied properties and restricted sites.
