Voluntary Board Members Grove Community Housing Association

Grove Community Housing Association (GCHA) is seeking voluntary Board Members who can provide good governance and can contribute to our strategy for success and deliver on our purpose; “To provide quality home and services for our tenants and wider community”.

We are looking for members who share our interest in the local community, housing provision and positive social impact as we realise our ambition of building homes and communities.

We recognise diversity of both thinking and background supports effective Boards and we particularly welcome applications from women and those with a disability or from an ethnic background as they are currently under-represented on our Board and also from persons who can demonstrate skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Legal and/or Charity Governance*
• Accountancy*
• Development*
• Social Housing including lived experience
• Audit, Compliance and Risk Management
• Organisational Development and Change Management
• Business Improvement and Customer Excellence
• Strategic Leadership & Policy
• PR & Community Engagement

Board meetings currently take place quarterly with generally no meetings in July or August and an AGM normally takes place each September so approximately five meetings per year, Committee meetings and ad hoc events like Board away day, NIFHA/CIH events, Resident events.  Meetings normally last 1.5 – 2 hours depending on Agenda and Board meetings are held in person (with option to join remotely) and Committee meetings generally held remotely and last 1 hour.  If you have the qualities and experience and can demonstrate a commitment to our corporate values, we would like to hear from you.  A full induction programme will be given to all successful applicants.  Whilst positions are unremunerated, reasonable expenses will be paid.
