This is a newly created position within Choice Services Ireland Ltd, part of the Choice group of businesses.

The post holder will assist the Commercial Manager, Operations Manager and Planned Maintenance Contract Manager to deliver the service by analysing construction project costs, preparing estimates, negotiating contracts to ensure optimal value for money while adhering to budgetary constraints, and to generate sufficient revenue from completed works. The post holder will manage an annual portfolio of projects totalling £3 million and will be responsible for generating sufficient revenue from completed works. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, and working closely with the Planned Maintenance Contract Manager. There will be no line management responsibilities, and no direct reports will be assigned.

 

The appointment of this Quantity Surveyor will allow Choice Services to meet the targets set in our strategic review. Choice has an ambitious plan to expand the current scope of planned work delivered within the group to £3m per annum by 2025. We are seeking a candidate who can make a positive contribution to that plan. You will be expected to be able to self-manage your workload, meet targets and programs with regards to budget submissions, interim claims, and final accounts, provide insight to both material and services procurement, and support colleagues in providing a first-class service to our customers.

 

This role does not require any travel to mainland UK, and offers great work-life balance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Essential Criteria

  • Hold Membership of RICS
  • 3+ years’ commercial experience in delivery of projects
  • Preparing and analyse costs and budgets on Measured Term Contracts
  • Public Procurement Experience
  • Working knowledge of National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates
  • Experience in delivering VFM in Planned projects or similar
  • Demonstrable experience delivering on time within budget
  • Analysis and evaluation of tenders and quotations
  • Full UK driving licence and access to car
