The postholder, as the stand-alone in-house solicitor for the Communities Directorate, will provide a professional and timely advisory service alongside legal representation in relation to housing management matters, as well of the provision of a high quality, responsive legal service in support of Radius’ core business objectives.

 

Hours:  37 per week

To be shortlisted candidates need to provide evidence of the following as a minimum:

 

  1. Possess a Level 6 qualification (e.g., Degree, Graduate diploma), or equivalent, in a relevant discipline.

 

  1. Be a solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland qualified to
    practice in Northern Ireland.

 

  1. Possess 5 years’ demonstrable relevant post qualification experience as a solicitor either in private practice or in house.

Relevant experience must be in at least one of the following areas:

  • Housing Law
  • Public Law

 

  1. Experience of personal representation in a formal environment on behalf of clients, e.g. Court, Tribunals in relation to housing matters.

 

  1. Experience of drafting legal documents, written representation/advocacy on behalf of clients, e.g. use of formal complaints/appeals procedures to statutory bodies.

 

 

  1. A current full driving licence and access to a suitable form of transport*

 

(*where an applicant indicates that a disability prohibits them from driving, this criterion will be waived at the shortlisting stage.  In such circumstances, consideration will be given in any subsequent offer of appointment to suitable alternative arrangements that the candidate may be able to put in place that would enable them to meet the travel requirements for the post).
