We are a Housing Association in North Belfast providing affordable quality housing to those in need. We have recently expanded our operations across Northern Ireland to almost 1100 properties and we currently employ 40 staff.

We wish to recruit suitably qualified persons for the Night Support Worker position at our supported scheme, Flax Foyer.

Located in the Ardoyne area of North Belfast, Flax Foyer is a supported scheme which supports homeless young people aged 18-25 to prepare for independent living.

Our team of support staff engage with the residents to deliver individually tailored, outcome-based support plans. Support is provided to residents throughout their stay to develop the necessary independent living skills required to maintain their own accommodation within the community.

Every resident is expected to be ready to commit to a training programme that will enhance their individual employability. Staff build professional relationships with external agencies to provide    training opportunities to residents both on and off site.

The Foyer consists of 37 self-contained one-bedroom apartments. A communal lounge, laundry and computer suite are also on site. Residents make the Foyer a home for a maximum two year stay.

This is a full time (37 hours) position and will be based in the Association’s Flax Foyer, which offers
accommodation and support to young people aged between 18-25 years, encouraging independence
and self-reliance. Reporting to the Foyer Manager, the jobholder will be required to ensure the safety
of the building and residents and provide support and advice to residents.
The successful candidates must have:
• A minimum of 1-year experience (gained within the last 5 years) of providing security/support
• A good understanding of the role and responsibilities of a support worker within a supported scheme
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The appointment will be made within the terms of the NJC Conditions of Service and salary will be NJC Point 3, £18,887 – NJC Point 5, £19,650 plus optional contributory pension scheme currently at employer contribution of 19.5%, 34 days annual leave (incl. stats) pro rata rising to 39 days pro rata after 5 years’ service, private healthcare and excellent work and family friendly policies.
