20hrs per week
(The rota’s cover a 7-day period and are done 4 weeks in advance)
£10.90 per hour
A bit about the role
As Cook, you will be responsible for the planning, preparation and cooking of meals and the supervision of the kitchen. You will have completed an NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Catering & Hospitality or an equivalent catering/kitchen related qualification OR have at least 1 years’ experience of working in a kitchen/catering environment. It would be beneficial if you have some knowledge of the diets of older people / menu planning. If you don’t have these, you must be willing to attend any training we will organise for you.
It’s important to us that you have the compassion and empathy to work with vulnerable people in a residential home setting.
24hr residential care means this is not just a 9-5 job and we encourage flexibility. What you bring to the role is important to us and you will find out more about that in the role profile which will be included in the recruitment pack.
