The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the strategic development of CHNI to maintain its role as an influential, effective and sustainable organisation. Key to this post is developing good working relationships with a very wide range of organisations and individuals in the fields of politics, statutory and third sectors.
Skills & Competencies
The postholder will articulate the vision and mission of the organisation by developing its strategy in partnership with CHNI’s board.
They will provide empowering leadership to CHNI’s team of core and project staff to deliver on that strategy. They will provide inspirational sectoral leadership to CHNI’s member organisations, acting as a voice for them and the people they serve. The ability to lead, to inspire and to galvanise the homeless sector in an open, honest and transparent way will be critical. Knowing when to listen and when to challenge, applying independent thought and careful judgement.
They will collaborate closely with and coordinate stakeholders in CHNI’s membership and will mobilise stakeholders outside CHNI’s membership to champion and support its mission, to ensure CHNI delivers maximum impact on homelessness.
They will act as a key influencer on homelessness through channels intended to improve the public’s understanding of its wider challenges, and ultimately to help determine public sector policies that work to benefit people experiencing homelessness, and to prevent more people being affected by it.
