Join our Board and make a difference to the lives of older people.

Abbeyfield & Wesley is a member society of the Abbeyfield movement.  Since the movement’s beginning back in 1956,  providing affordable housing and support for older people has been at Abbeyfield’s heart.

Across Northern Ireland, Abbeyfield & Wesley currently has seventeen supported sheltered houses, three sheltered housing schemes and a residential dementia care home. But we’re not just about bricks and mortar – fundamental to what we do is the recognition that overcoming loneliness and insecurity can make all the difference to an older persons well-being and quality of life; and that local people have an essential part to play in helping older people in the community.  Now in a post -covid recovery phase and looking to the future, Abbeyfield & Wesley is currently recruiting for new Board Members.

We especially welcome expressions of interest from those with experience in the fields of housing and/or care.  Insight into the lived experience of older people and residents would also be a valuable asset for our Board. You do not need to have previous Board Member experience to apply.

Abbeyfield & Wesley is a housing association, Industrial and Provident society and registered charity.       We are governed by a Board of voluntary trustees and the Board meets at least four times per year.
