Lone Worker / Personal Safety
Colum Jordan from StaySafe Systems delivers a fun and participative day that will be particularly relevant for ‘front-line’ staff and their managers who will benefit from learning about the key elements of lone working, personal safety and self-awareness.
Course outline:
- Understanding of health & safety legislation and policies relating to specific job roles
- Risk assessment and client approach techniques
- How to identify risks & prevent threats to your personal safety and wellbeing
- Home / off site visits
- Interview & best practice procedures
- Understand the need for personal safety within specific work activities.
- Understanding aggression and recognise behaviours that indicate an escalation to confrontation.
- Understanding triggers and inhibitors in order to reduce any potential threat.
- Develop the skills to calm and defuse confrontational situations.
- Managing violent and non-physical encounters – breakaway and diffusion techniques
- Effective service – understanding the benefits of professional service.
This workshop will teach participants how to put in place their own personal safety plan for their daily routine, by recognising risks to their personal safety and learning how to deal with them at the earliest opportunity. The workshop will outline good practice procedures with risk control measures and strategies to deal with personal safety and confrontational situations in a legal and safe manner.
