DfC briefing on reclassification of housing associations as private sector bodies

Shane Clements from the Department for Communities will provide an update on the progress to pass legislation enabling Housing Associations in Northern Ireland to reverse the Office for National Statistics’ (ONS) decision and reclassify housing associations here as private sector bodies.
He will also provide an update on the department’s proposed House Sales consultation.
The Department is keen to enable all social housing tenants to express their views on this proposal. It will also be an opportunity to meet Deborah Brown who is the new Director of Housing at DfC.
NIFHA chief executive Ben Collins commented: “I would encourage you or one of your colleagues to come along to this NIFHA Member Briefing event which is free of charge, on this important issue.”
The briefing will start at 10am at the NIFHA office in Belfast.
