Oaklee's Rothesay Court Celebrates 30 years
Wednesday 24 February 2010
Oaklee Homes Group’s first sheltered scheme recently celebrated its 30th anniversary in the provision of quality social housing for older people.| Oaklee’s first scheme was officially opened in Coleraine City Centre in 1979 by Sir Phillip Carter Goodhart, former Junior Northern Ireland Minister. Rothesay epitomizes the best of Oaklee’s vision for quality life in sheltered accommodation with every amenity at the heart of the community. Oaklee has come from this humble beginning and is now growing from strength to strength as one of the leading Housing Associations in Northern Ireland providing and managing quality social housing, care and support services to meet a wide range of needs. The group provide sheltered housing for older people, general family housing, mature singles and also people with special needs. | ![]() |
Oaklee measures its success on the people it serves and Marjorie Geary is the longest remaining tenant at Rothesay Court. So far she has enjoyed 18 happy years at the scheme.
A 30th Anniversary book will also be launched shortly by Oaklee Homes Group to commemorate the first 30 years and its provision of delivering affordable housing throughout Ireland. Mrs Sylvia Doran Chairperson for Oaklee Homes Group comments on the significance of this anniversary,
“It is my pleasure to be joining in on the celebrations of this noteworthy event for Oaklee Homes Group and Rothesay Court today. I am delighted to say that over the past thirty years through Oaklee’s hard work and determination Oaklee has achieved its mission of delivering customer focused housing and support services in Ireland. I wish Rothesay Court and its residents many more years of happiness to enjoy life at the scheme.”
