NIFHA Press Room
Letter to the Editor
Tuesday 5 January 2010
Dear Editor
For more than 40 years the housing association movement has been working throughout Northern Ireland providing decent affordable homes to members of our community.
This New Year, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the many voluntary Board Members who support social housing development in Northern Ireland. These volunteers play a vital role in guiding our movement to ensure high quality, sustainable social housing is made available. All of them have made a difference, whether to an individual, their community or the environment.
These are challenging times for the movement so if you’re interested in a challenge then NIFHA would like to hear from you. We want to add to our register of people interested in becoming voluntary Board Members for a housing association.
A housing association’s Board of Management should represent a wide range of interests and skills. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate specialist knowledge of Community Development, Property Development, HR, Finance, Marketing, PR, Lobbying or Housing Management.
If you are interested in volunteering and would like to find out more then, contact NIFHA on T: 028 9023 0446, E: info@nifha.org or log into our website www.nifha.org and look under NIFHA Governance.
Thank you
