NIFHA's AGM 2010
The 2010 AGM was held at The Ramada, Shaw's Bridge. The event's 'master of ceremonies' was Flax Housing's John Patterson (pictured right) who ensured the event kept flowing and on time. Those who attended heard a number of reports including the Acting Chair's, Chief Executive and NIFHA's Auditor. They recieved a copy of the 2009-10 Annual Report and the 15th edition of POSH. |
![]() | In common with the rest of the voluntary / charity sector in Northern Ireland our housing association members are affected by the changes in charity registration. Consequently the Chief Executive of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, Frances McCandless (pictured left), was invited to make a presentation on the current situation. |
As part of this year's AGM NIFHA hosted a networking dinner (pictures below) to give our members an opportunity to invite guests and chat informally. Images from the evening can be viewed via our Flickr account. The evening also saw the presentation of NIFHA's inaugral housing awards.

Many members of the Federation took the opportunity to attend, network and receive the Annual Report 2008 and fully audited accounts. which were presented by Chris Williamson (NIFHA's Chief Executive). The evening continued with the election of Ray Cashell as NIFHA's new Chair and John Patterson as Vice Chair. The biennial Peter McLachlan Memorial Lecture was a thought-provoking and stimulating presentation by the Rt Hon George Reid who asked "Will the Glue hold?". With humour and insight he guided us through his thoughts on social housing and what civil society is and its impact today. NIFHA's AGM 2008
2008's AGM was held on 30 June at Clotworthy Arts Centre in Antrim. It proved a good opportunity for a number of Antrim councillors to attend to meet with associations working in the area. They took the opportunity to share their experiences of social housing developement within the council area. |

NIFHA's Chair, Frank Dunne gave the introductions whilst Chris Williamson, Chief Executive, provided attendees with an overview of what had happened in the organisation over the previous year.
